Ed and Elaine Blane of New Hampshire really don't like paying income taxes.  So, they would rather die.  Yup.  That's rational.

The couple have hunkered down in a 110 acre compound, with their own electricity, and 360 degree lookout turret, are taunting the police and SWAT teams.  They held a news conference with guest crazy Randy Weaver, of the badly botched 1992 Ruby Ridge affair declaring "we either walk out of here free or we die."  In the immortal words of Spongebob Squarepants, "well, good luck with that!"

Supporters in lounge chairs on the front lawn reportedly "rail against Freemasons, the Illuminati, the Federal Reserve, the Vatican and the mainstream media".

A "massive" law enforcement effort on June 7, 2007 included roadblocks, airplanes and they seized Elaine's dental practice.

"They were using up all kinds of cop equipment they had laying around the police officer station because everyone wanted to get in the newspaper story about it,"  -- Arlo Guthrie

The June 7 raid had to be called off when someone walking a dog stumbled upon one  federal agents in camouflage near the home.
